Brand insight- Magnum and Skinny cow

I was reading Economic times of 7th August, where i came across these two interesting Ice cream brands, Magnum and Skinny Cow. Magnum, from the house of Brit Giant Unilever, sold under the umbrella of Kwality walls. Skinny Cow, from the house of the Swiss goliath, Nestle.Skinny cow also covers cookies and shake-stirs.
I surfed to the websites, FB pages and youtube videos of both the brands. I personally liked the Skinny cow. There website is much more beautiful and their FB page is also quite active. Both the websites invite for signing up with them, though the Skinny cow's invitation with their 'club skinny' is much more amusing. It is a good way of conducting marketing research.

Magnum clearly targets the adults, with subtly sexy ads featuring svelte girls and guys. They have tried to create the image of the brand around 'pleasure'. All the offerings have something or the other to do with pleasure. Magnum comprises of a unique assortment of chocolate bars.
I don't know about you but i started drooling looking at these pictures.

ET states that Magnums sales have topped 1.24 billion dollars worldwide.

And now the Skinny Cow

The brand is having a fun loving jolly personality and that is apparent with the slender mascot. The ads which I found on youtube were comical . They have their POD as being delicious and yet having a very low fat content.
There assortment is much more wider including even cookies and shake-stirs.
