So, we are having a new chewing gum in the market. The Dharampal Satyapal group, better known as the DS group, the makers of the famous mouth freshner has come up with its diversification, foraying into the confectionery market with a chewing gum . The name of the gum is going to be 'Chingles'.
The company has already been manufacturing the chewing gum in a joint venture with the Japanese company Lotte since 2005.
The confectionery market in India is expected be around 9000 crores, out of which 25% can be accounted to the gum market (Chewing and bubble). In the context of chewing gums, major players are Prefertti, Wrigley and Candico. Apart from the general grocery store, a huge portion of the sales for the chewing gums comes from the Pan-Wallas. The success of Pass Pass can also be attributed to the distribution through the Pan-Wallas. The distribution of chingles is also following a similar pattern.
Here are the Point of Differences which Chingles Possesses, one its traditional mouth freshening flavors viz. Sauf, Nimboo and Mint. Second, it is not like ordinary chewing gum cakes, it is rather in the form of many small beads. earlier such gums were available only in small boxes of cardboard or plastic, I think this is the first time they would be packaged in a sachet.
I tried the gum and liked it. I think this is a product that is going to stay
